In the parable of the unfair boss in Matthew 20, Jesus illustrates the nature of grace. Grace is unmerited favor which flows from the goodness of the giver. Grace for us is God's help in our time of need. But why do we need God's help? When do we need God's grace. We need God's grace, His help in delivering us from our sin! We are saved by God's grace through faith without human effort. Salvation is solely by God's grace. It is a gift of grace which we freely receive. We need God's help throughout life, especially during times of hardship and suffering. God has promised us sufficient grace to meet our every need and enable us to live for Him. We also need God's help in serving Him. We are what we are only by God's grace, and we are the channels through whom God works in the lives of others. How do we receive God's grace? We must first of all humble ourselves, recognizing that we need God's help. Secondly, we must ask Him for help, and then thirdly, accept help that may come through others. God's grace is indeed simply amazing!
