To have your belt loose or improperly connected, is to have everything get twisted up, caught up, and tangled up on your own person. If loose, you will have your own accoutrements dropping in the hottest parts of the fight, losing things that are part of you, things you can't afford to lose when everything is on the line. The Belt is vitally necessary. It keeps everything bound up with you. So what, if you have everything you need weapon wise, but it's falling off of you because it's not buckled tight. So what if you are ready to fight, and you've been well trained, but you're getting tripped up and tied up in all your own garments because the belt is not securing it in a safe way? Do you see? For us, our belt keeps everything locked where it should be and keeps us from tripping all over ourselves. Truth cuts through our feelings, truth cuts through our traditions, and cuts through our wants. Truth will cut through misunderstandings, through manipulation, and is the only thing that can disarm a lie. A Christian has a unique relationship with the truth. The truth is not just one virtue in the Christian's life. It is the reality that holds everything else together!
