How our world longs for peace. Our own hearts yearn for it. When Christ was born, the angels praised God and declared 'peace on earth' because the child born to us was the Prince of Peace. A 'prince' is a member of the royal household– the king's representative and a commander of his given jurisdiction. What a joy and comfort it is to know there is someone in charge of peace! And we can know him! He has come to us so that we might know the way of peace. This is the subject of our fourth sermon in our Advent series from Isaiah 9:1-7. May we find great comfort and hope in the peace of Christ this Christmas season.
