After a long silence in Chapter 2, and Job's heart wrenching complaints in Chapter 3, thus Eliphaz answered Job in chapter 4. In exploring the fourth chapter, a consideration of – A) Who Eliphaz was (v1), B) Eliphaz admonished Job's for intolerance of the afflictions; when they're upon him. He questioned Job's patience under trials, as he reminds him of his usefulness to others (2 – 7). C) Eliphaz, doubted Job's rare qualities of devotion to God (5–6); the qualities of patience, of integrity and of confident fear and hope in God. D). Eliphaz' arguments and accusations of Job (6–21), pointed out that, Job was guilty of sin and therefore, he was receiving the just penalty he deserved. And the authority with which Eliphaz spoke for these conclusions were based on – his age, his experiences; his religious knowledge of God's dealing with the angels and human frailties before God his maker. However, this is not how to counsel.
