This is a study of Paul's 2nd epistle to the Thessalonians, which was written shortly after his first epistle to them. There was false doctrine that was circulating in the church at Thessalonica, that led Paul to write so quickly after his first letter to them. Because of the intense persecution they found themselves under they had come to accept that the day of the Lord had come. Since this was way off the mark, Paul gave them the truth as to why that was not the case. Here we look at the wonderful work of God, for each of those who are His. This work has its genesis in eternity past, continues through time and takes us safely into eternity future, all by His matchless grace in Christ Jesus. Because of His grace to us we are to stand firm and hold to the Word of God. Had they done this in the beginning, they would not have been led astray into thinking that the day of the Lord had come. God's wonderful provision for the Thessalonians and all those in the body of Christ, is eternal comfort and good hope by grace. Here we look at our privilege of doing good works and deeds and the relationship between our words and our works as we follow the Lord.
