On Sunday, we continue our Advent series by looking at Simeon's response to seeing Jesus presented in the temple. He had been waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Spirit had revealed to him that he would not see death until he had seen the Lord's Christ. When Simeon saw Jesus, he was overwhelmed with joy. That was enough for him. He could now "rest in peace." The Lord's salvation has come! What joy and comfort it is to know this. By the Spirit, together with Simeon, we too can say, "Now you are letting your servant depart in peace."
