Joel 1 – Lamentation or Condemnation – Sermon Outline
Intro: When God's people and/or all people in any nation live in heinous sin, God will give severe punishment. Through such judgments of the LORD, He destroys the wicked and sanctifies His people.
Need: God's kingdom calls for repentance, a life of repentance and grief over sin, a growing trust and comfort in Christ our Lord and Savior, and a swelling love and capacity to serve Him/His people.
Theme: Only repentance with lamentation can curb God's judgment for flagrant, generational sin.

2. God's judgment for grievous, extended sin devastates the land, the people, and His worship.
3. The priests (ministers) must lead the people in heartfelt, corporate prayers of repentance to prevail upon God's tender mercies for them. |
