The Love Expressed in God's Name.Psalm 103:1-5,8-13,17-19.David loved the Lord because he knew how much God loved him. Throughout Psalm 103, we hear David's appreciation for God's love. In His love, God PROVIDES what we desperately need. vv.1-5. In His love, God extends to us COMPASSION, GRACE, and FORGIVENESS. vv.8-13. In His love, God never ABANDONS His people. vv.17-19. This Psalm was written by David. It was probably written when he was a older man. It contains the language of a man who has experienced the serious consequences of sin and the awesome forgiveness and pardon of Almighty God. David identifies eight spiritual reasons that should stimulate our hearts to offer God Blessing and praise, not just in December at Christmas time, but on every day of the year. v. 3a God's Forgiveness. v. 3b God's Healing. v. 4a God's Redemption. v. 4b God's Grace. v. 5 God's Peace. v. 6 God's Intercession. v. 7 God's Revelation. v. 19 God's Sovereignty. David closes this Psalm, he calls on all of creation to join him in his praise of the Lord. Angels, saints, servants and sinners, along with all of creation, are called upon to offer God the praise, glory and adoration He deserves.
