I will speak this Sunday about Zechariah, the father of John the Baptist. God was ready to send his Son, to fulfil his promises to Israel, and to do so at a time when most of his people were refusing to hear his word. Such was God's mercy. He would be true to his promise, even when his people lived a lie. It was important that everyone associated with the announcement of Christ's coming was alive to the freedom of God's mercy.
