This passage takes us back to a familiar scene in the life of Israel: complaining, complaining, complaining! Even though God set them free from bondage, gave them food and water, and now is leading them to the land that He promised them, they are still ungrateful. As a result of their complaining against God, He sent a plague of snakes against them. But when the people repented, God also gave them a remedy: a bronze serpent. When the people looked upon this serpent, they would be saved regardless of how sick they were. Join us this Sunday as we study this story, and we consider how it is a shadow of the Savior would heal all who have been bitten by the poison of sin.
