As Paul leaves the Ephesian church convinced that he will be never see them again, he commends the people to God 'and to the word of his grace, which is able to build you up, and to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.'
We dissect this beautiful farewell verse phrase by phrase, and see the apostle imploring the people to cling to the Word of God. We see how this will build the people up in faithfulness, in numerical numbers as a church, and individually in doctrine, making their testimony clearer.
Through the death of Christ we gain the inheritance of heaven. We are sanctified by decree, by the blood of Christ, and by the work of the Spirit to fit us for heaven.
Here is the believer's great strength.
