It is not just mercy that comes forth from the holiest of places, that place where the Risen and Ascending King of heaven and earth reigns. While seated upon the throne, Christ rules over all that is seen and unseen, from the smallest creepy crawly to the massive roaring stars radiating light and heat. There is nothing over which Christ cannot say, "this is mine." Immensity and eternity belong to Him, and for this reason He is also Judge of heaven and earth. Here in Revelation 15, we see Christ operating as Judge upon those who denied Him worship, allegiance, praise. From that place of glory, Christ issues forth decrees not of peace and comfort, but wrath and terror. The picture which John paints is one of the horror of judgment coming forth from that place where mercy ought to flow, and the absolute horror of the shutting off of mercy when time has run out.
