The Bible is about a Rescue Mission. It is about the thrice holy God redeeming humanity in an act that only he could perform. It is about God making promises and keeping them. He would visit the world. He would come down, get involved, and solve humanity’s plight. The King of Holiness would enter the world in an unexpected way on an unexpected day. With Him, nothing would be impossible. Today, I want us to catch a glimpse of the King of Holiness. He gave up His heavenly crown to be laid in a humble crib. Isaiah 57:15 says, “For thus saith the high and lofty One that inhabiteth eternity, whose name is Holy; I dwell in the high and holy place, with him also that is of a contrite and humble spirit, to revive the spirit of the humble, and to revive the heart of the contrite ones.” He would come down to change our lives forever. Let’s look Luke 1:26-38 and hear what Luke carefully researched about the entrance of the King of Holiness into the world. As a doctor and accurate historian, Luke may have gotten this story from the lips of Mary herself. The King of Holiness was 1) preexistent 2) made a personal entrance and 3) deserves personal exaltation.
