The Friends of Israel's own Dr. Renald Showers is joining us as a guest on our SermonAudio pages this Christmas season to talk about the doctrine of Christ. In this installment, he explains what the Scriptures teach about the hypostatic union -- describing how the two natures of Christ exist together and relate to one another. Showers says that Christ, as the only theanthropic Person in history, is "absolute deity, incarnated in humanity, in human flesh." Our speaker states further of Christ, "He is the outward visible expression of the invisible God to mankind." Showers goes on to explain the significance of the kenosis, or emptying, of Christ, showing the incredible humility that He displayed through His life and death. He also deals with the questions of whether or not Christ could have sinned, and how He could be tempted.
