Why did Jesus come? Our Lord answers that question Himself in John’s gospel: “ For this cause I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world, that I should bear witness to the truth. Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice” (John 18:37, NKJV). Christ is the embodiment of truth. Look into His life and see that in Christ, there is nothing false, disingenuous or impure. Jesus is truth. In the incarnation, in the life of Jesus, God reveals to us the truth about mankind, and also Himself. Let’s pray that the wonder of Christ’s coming will flood our hearts in the days ahead as we celebrate His birth and anticipate His return.
