Isaac and Rebekah could not have children, but God sovereignly intervened and Rebekah became pregnant with what both knew was going to be the promised child to continue the legacy God had promised to Abraham and passed on to Isaac.  Suddenly, Rebekah is confused because the "child" in her belly was fighting against "itself".  In the midst of her confusion, she cried out to God, "what is happening to me?" What she did not know was there was not one child, but two children in her womb! In His mercy, the LORD spoke to her explaining what was going on. She was carrying two children, and God had chosen the younger to be His prodigy over the elder. This is sovereignty in action - God chose Jacob over Esau before she ever gave birth! The story of Esau and Jacob is one of the most remarkable in the Bible and in this session we look at the first part of their story - the sovereign choice of Jacob over Esau.
