Jonah was a messenger to Nineveh, called by the Lord, yet he refused to fulfil the task entrusted to him. His story is a powerful reflection of many lives today.
Determined to flee from God's presence, Jonah boarded a ship heading in the opposite direction. Many today are like Jonah—acknowledging God's existence but lacking any desire to commune with Him.
Jonah's rebellion led to a downward spiral. He placed himself in the arms of the world, forfeiting God's care and protection. This gave him a false sense of peace, leaving him oblivious to the reality of God's judgment.
How often do we fall into the same pattern? Like Jonah, however, there is a pathway to rescue and salvation. Jonah's deliverance began with a great storm, but God's mercy provided safety through the mouth of the great fish.
Have we found our eternal salvation through Christ Jesus?
