In the world today the path to the "good life" incompasses power. A power of self-confidence is seen, but selling a false narrative is not the gospel. In today's scripture we see the church in Philadelphia. This church was not a major church. It had little strength, was meek, but in spite of this Jesus issues them massive promises. He gives 4 things to the Philadelphia church: assurance--an open door into God's kingdom & presence. #2-vindication--Jesus will make these people's enemies bow down to them or come into salvation. #3--protection from the destruction of their hope. #4 Honor--in the name of Jesus by belonging to him. The spiritual powerless receive God's gifts of His blessings, love & promises.
