Psalm 100 prophetically looks forward to the coming of the Messiah when the only sacrifice God's people will bring is the Thank-offering. Christ fulfilled the purpose of the sacrificial system, providing the once for all atonement for sin. In Psalm 100, the call to worship goes out to "all the earth" in anticipation the Messiah's eradication of the barriers of race, gender and social status, granting all of the redeemed equal access to the Father. The Psalm also declares that we do not become God's people on our own. He makes us His people, the sheep of His pasture. Christ's first coming has afforded us the privilege of living a life of thankful worship.
