Joshua was getting up there in age but he was not going to to step off the scene until he said his peace. He was going to share some important words with the people. He reminded them of what God had already done for them. Because of God they had overcome in the battle. He told them this because they were going to face other battles. Also Joshua reminded them that God was their personal God, they belonged to Him (and so do we).
