Solid Like A Rock By Grace! (Be A Man Part 2) I Text: 1 Moreover Job continued his parable, and said, 2 Oh that I were as in months past, as in the days when God preserved me; 3 When his candle shined upon my head, and when by his light I walked through darkness. (Job 29:1-3)
II Doctrine: Job recalls the days when God’s grace was upon him. Job was great because of the submission of all his faculties to God’s service. The God of the Old Testament is the same as the God of the New Testament. Jesus Christ is the solid Rock upon which we stand. We are to emulate Him as little rocks building the House of God. Men need to stand on His word and apply it to all of life. We must give our heart, mind, soul, and strength to God. III Reasons: 1) Jesus Christ the rock of our faith calls us and equips us to be His army in this world. (1 Peter 2:1-3) 2) Men are brought into Christ’s Kingdom to extend it . (1 Peter 2:4,5) 3) Christian Men are to be a source of light and life wherever we go. (1 Peter 2:7-11) IV Application: 1) Like David we must stand up against the enemy by faith . (1 Samuel 17:41-47) 2) We must be like David and defeat our enemies through the power of the Rock. (1 Samuel 17:48,49) 3) Regardless of external circumstances we are always in a position of power when we stand on the Gospel of Jesus Christ. (1 Corinthians 1:20-24)
