Having been cleansed by the Lord of his sins, Joshua is admonished by the Angel of the Lord that if he is obedient in his personal life and ministerial responsibility, God will use him and his fellow priests to bring about the coming of the Ultimate High Priest, the Messiah, who would cleanse His people from their sin. This message reenforces the Biblical principle that present obedience means future reward. Lest we be discouraged in our pursuit of obedience, we are also reminded that the power to be obedient can only come by Grace through the power of God. The encouragement to obey the Lord comes by remembering that we all have purpose in the Kingdom of God. This purpose is summed up by our realization that life is hard and that others need to be encouraged and affirmed in God's cleansing power and forgiving love for them. May we be His priests to the hurting today!
