There are characteristics in the life of the believer that can only come with time spent with God. This time spent with God is not only for the mature believer, but also for the benefit of those who are younger in the faith. In this passage, Paul indicates what characteristics ought to be evident in the life of a mature believer. These are marks of maturity, for the benefit of the younger believers.
