Now in Joshua Chapter 2:1 here we have the first mention of Rahab in the Bible.
The Bible tells us that she was a Harlot. She had the reputation of being a Shady Lady in Jericho… but in her story we see also the hand of God and the grace of God upon her life?
Now as we look at the Book of Joshua there are four things that I would like to look at in relation to Rahab's story this morning.
Firstly I want us to see the Condemnation.
Jericho was a Condemned City:
Secondly I want to see the Conviction. There was conviction in the heart of Rahab.
Thirdly I want us to see the Concern. Rahab had concern for others.
Fourthly I want us to see the Commendation. The Bible commends Rahab as a woman of faith.
Fifthly I want us to see the Connection. Rahab had a direct connection to the Lord Jesus.
When a person becomes a Christian they are convicted that God is their Creator and that they are a sinner deserving of God's Judgement but they realise that God has provided a rescue plan for all that would trust Christ as Saviour. God sent Jesus to be our Redeemer. Remember by faith Rahab displayed the Crimson Cord in the window of her house. All that were in the house of the Crimson cord were to be saved. Remember years before that the blood of the Lamb that was applied on the Door Frames of the Israelites in Egypt. The Angel of death would Passover the houses of the Israelites who had applied the blood. Protected by the Blood. The Bible indicates that: Heb 9:22 …without shedding of blood is no remission. When a person by faith trust's in God's Lamb, Jesus Christ, they know that they have been redeemed by His blood.
