It is not that they would lose their salvation. Lukewarm coffee is still coffee. The point is that this church made Jesus sick (nauseated). Their blandness was unacceptable to him.
It been said that there is no one farther from the truth in Christ than the one who makes an idle profession without real faith. Their life in Christ was a lie in Christ.
