We've now become a service-oriented economy, with companies servicing other companies, providing them with the professionals to help do task that others cannot do. For there is only so much a person can do on their own; we all need help. The same is true in the church. There are tasks that need to be done in a local church in order for a church to run smoothly. And there is only so much a pastor can do. He needs people will ministering or serving gifts. Now, in a general sense, ever gift is a ministry gift for the purpose of gifts is to serve others. Ministry gifts are to be exercised in God's strength and for God's glory. But specifically, five gifts fall into this category. The gifts of leadership and administration, who make up the front office of a ministry, plus the gifts of service, faith, and spiritual discernment--all are needed to be exercised for the church to function and to obey its mandate of making fully devoted followers of Jesus Christ.
