Sin is the worst thing in the world. God does not overlook sin. A mistake and sin are 2 different things: - A mistake is inadvertent. - Sin is deliberate. What happens when a Christian sins? 1. Sin brings God’s chastisement. - Chastisement is a correction, not punishment (vengeance); Jesus was punished for our sin on the cross! - 3 ways He chastens us: - With the Word. - With the rod. - With removal. 2. Sin costs us our joy. 3. Sin will quench the work of the Holy Spirit in my life. 4. Sin closes God’s ears to our prayers. 5. Sin has consequences on others besides the sinner. 6. Sin destroys our testimony. What’s the remedy for sin? 1. Confess. - Not informing God about what you did, but agreeing with Him about it. 2. Forsake. – Get it out of your life. 3. Forget. – Get up and go on living for God!
