The reading of the Scriptures with godly fear; the sound preaching, & conscionable hearing of the word, in obedience unto God, with understanding, faith, & reverence; singing of psalms with grace in the heart; as also the due administration & worthy receiving of the sacraments instituted by Christ; are all parts of the ordinary religious worship of God... (Westminster Confession of Faith 21:5, 1647).
It is the duty of Christians to praise God publickly, by the singing of psalms together in the congregation, & also privately in the family. (The Directory for the Publick Worship of God; Agreed Upon by the Assembly of Divines at Westminster... as a Part of the Covenanted Uniformity in Religion... with an Act of the General Assembly, & Act of Parliament, Both in Anno 1645 Approving & Establishing the Said Directory).
The duties required in the 2nd commandment are, the receiving, observing, & keeping pure & entire, all such religious worship & ordinances as God hath instituted in his word... also the… opposing, all false worship; &, according to each one's place & calling, removing it, & all monuments of idolatry. (Westminster Larger Catechism, Ans. 108, 1648).

Thank You I've been gathering resources for singing the psalms for years. This is a great resource and will definitely have its place among tune resources we use in our family worship. May God bless you for this effort on behalf of His kingdom.

Be Ye Separate Thank you for providing this. As with Traci, my family is also learning this from scratch. This should be helpful.
Adding to Russell's suggestions above, I have been through the effort of dividing these into separate files. To save other people the time, you can use my batch file: http://thelittlegreenhouse.co. za/psalmsplitter.bat
This is how it works:
1. download and install "mp3splt" from:
http://mp3splt.sourcefo rge.net/mp3splt_page/downloads. php
2. download my simple batch file:
http://thelittlegreenho use.co.za/psalmsplitter.bat
3. copy your large psalms mp3 and "psalmsplitter.bat" into the same folder that you installed "mp3splt" into.
(probably something like: C:\Program Files\mp3splt)
4. run psalmsplitter.bat
5. watch how 54 neatly seperated mp3 files appear :-)
Great Sermon! Hi guys!!
So wonderful to hear these way over here across the ocean once again. Brings back many wonderful memories of singing them with you. Feels like you are right here in my living room. We are still singing His Psalms way over here with our 8 kids. Miss you lots and pray that He continues to bless you with His truth and love.

Great Psalmody resource! Thank you so much for making this resource. My family has been longing for something like this to teach us the 1650 psalter tunes to use in family worship. We were not raised reformed so we are starting from scratch. This will help immensely. I hope you will continue on through the rest of the psalms. May God bless you for your efforts.
