Ever known anyone who is consumed by bitterness? We all have; we may have even harbored bitterness of our own at some point in our lives. Most generally adhere to the common understanding of what bitterness is, and that is that it is something that happens as a result of someone doing something egregious to you. Something unprovoked; something undeserved. Something unresolved. And because of the nature of the offense, we almost justify the conception of bitterness, and the tolerance of its presence. But bitterness is in fact, and it's rawest form, just plain old hatred. Bitterness is a choice that you make. We can be the reason why someone chooses bitterness, whether by example or by provocation. It's ruined many relationships, marriages, churches, and the list goes on.
