This fortieth message from Romans continues Paul's concluding remarks involving his future. His PLANS included three aspects: (1) going to Rome from which he had often been impeded, though he inclined to go many times; (2) going to Jerusalem intent on serving the saints with a gift from indebted believers in Greece; and (3) going to Spain after an interval of time, to increase their blessings from Christ. The PRAYERS of both Paul and the Roman believers formed a teamwork that was critical for his rescue from disbelievers, and for a recognized pleasure by the saints in Jerusalem. Ultimately his target was to reach those believers in Rome and be refreshed by them.
