1. He begins in chapter 1 with describing who we are as Christians in this world, we are sojourners and pilgrims. 2. We are the elect of God through the triune work of God. 3. We have been abundantly blessed because we have been born again to a living hope and we have an inheritance in heaven that is eternal. 4. We possess a salvation that is so glorious that even angels are amazed. 5. We are called to live holy lives before God because we have been redeemed by the precious blood of Jesus Christ through His Word which abides forever. 6. In chapter 2 we are a called and chosen people made acceptable by the Chosen Cornerstone Jesus Christ and as such we are now a royal priesthood, a holy nation and his own special people. 7. We of all people have a reason to proclaim the praises of Him who has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light. 8. As sojourners and Pilgrims we are called to live honorable lives before a watching world and this includes submission to biblically mandated authority within their assigned jurisdictions.
