The second advent of Christ, his appearing at the end of the present age, is a prominent teaching of Jesus and the apostles. The resurrection of Christ from the dead (v.9) assures us of his ascension, present high priestly ministry, and his Return. The coming of Christ should spur us on to faithful service, steer us away from sin, and stir up our love for him. As we wait for Christ's return, that great event should govern and motivate our thoughts, words, and actions to the point where we could rightly be "Adventist Christians."
