How should a Christian respond when they are confronted with the facts of their sin? One of the most famous Christians was also one of the most wicked–King David. David committed adultery with Bathsheba, then murdered her husband Uriah to cover it up. David thought he had been successful at handling his sin by his own wisdom, and was moving on with life. But then came God's prophet Nathan. Nathan confronted David with the words of God, and by God's grace David repented. His prayer at that occasion was the words he wrote in Psalm 51. What should be our response to God's confrontation with us today as a congregation? We are all asking ourselves, "Have I been repentant? Am I dealing with my sin rightly?" We should respond with the same words David did in Psalm 51.
