This section of Revelation presents us with two great powers, there is the power of the dragon and those who ally themselves with him, the beasts, and those who bear the name of the beast; and there is also Christ, the Lamb, and those who trust in Him, who have heard the Gospel, respond in faith, and bear the Name of the Father. To preach the Gospel is to reveal that there are two ways to go, two ways which you can go, there is the way of Christ and the Gospel, and there is the way of the lies, deceit, and the dragon. The false teachers of Israel show themselves to be hellish in their doctrine and intent, they are Babylon, they serve not Christ but the Devil. Their reward is not everlasting life, but torment, pain, and the hell of their own making. The vision of Christ here adds to our understand of Him, not merely to be a good and faithful Shepherd, but also a just and terrifying Judge. Seek salvation while it may be found, lest you perish like Babylon.
