-The relationship of the disciple with the world is the subject that we will look at today. In this painful relationship the Christian is given a verb that is to regulate his or her response to the world that hates. The word is not hate. The word is not retreat. The verb is witness. God calls us to be his witnesses in a world that hates. And Jesus comforts his apostles and the church through the centuries by assuring us of the ministry of the Holy Spirit. When we witness to the truth of the Word we never witness alone. The Spirit of truth bears witness through us to the truth. While the whole world will not be converted, some will be saved out of the world like was true for every believer in this room.
