In preaching on any subject I try to follow an old Puritan admonition which is of great value. They said, “So preach as to condemn no one, but so preach that if guilty they will condemn themselves.” Now think about that for a minute because it is very important. “So preach as to condemn no one, but so preach that if guilty they will condemn themselves.” I believe in some measure I might have succeeded along those lines because easily 95% of the criticism of my preaching has been taking me to task for things that I never said. I preached a message one time called “The Devil Preachers in our Town.” Several thousand copies of it went out in booklet form. It was on the radio a couple of times. And it was a topic of conversation among people around this area for several months. One day I was in a Christian bookstore and a Methodist preacher came in. The subject of that little booklet came up and he said to me, “Don’t you think you were a little hard on us?” Now, that man’s name was not in the sermon. Neither were the names of any of his friends, but he said, “Don’t you think you have been a little hard on us.”

Great Sermon! This is a great message for anyone interested in missions! It doesn't make sense to spend all or most of our missions $$$ to send people to Neverheardofitstan while ignoring the needs all around us. Listeners / readers, is your Macedonian call from God or from your family and friends?
