On October 18 we received word that her daughter Jennifer, who was a student at Northwestern College in St. Paul Minnesota was killed in automobile accident. She was 22 years old and had been out shopping with a friend when someone ran a stop sign at a very high rate of speed. During the past three weeks we have known the strength and comfort of the Holy Spirit in a way never before experienced. We have known what it is to be able to trust the goodness, love and mercy of God in a situation that humanly speaking is painful beyond imagination.
We do have the wonderful assurance that Jenny knew the Lord and the passion of her life was to serve him. The funeral service was held on October 24 and the message was delivered by Rev. Timothy Brinkerhoff from the Lafayette Federated Church in Lafayette New Jersey. That is the Church that we have been a part of when I am not preaching at Staten Island. There have been so many encouraging testimonies about how this service was blessed of God in the lives of various people that we decided to post it. I (Pastor Jim McLoughlin) do speak a word of testimony briefly along with my wife at the end.
