The Lord's Final Call. Micah 2:1-13 The God's Warning of Coming Judgment.The Cause of the Judgment: A Corrupt Society.Judgment is coming. Judgment is inevitable, and it will be inescapable. We have sinned—disobeyed God's holy commandments—and come short of His standard, which is perfection. God's judgment is to fall upon us because we have sinned and corrupted the earth.Our wicked behavior has corrupted society and polluted the earth. This is the cause of God's coming judgment. In the present Scripture, we see the sins of the Jewish people totally corrupt their land—Israel and Judah, the Northern and Southern Kingdoms—and bring God's judgment down upon them.Still despite the people's gross offenses, God offers them great hope for the future through the prophet Micah. What is that hope? It is the Lord's wonderful promise of salvation and restoration. ARISE AND DEPART. The Lord's messenger, by which He calls our hearts homeward, The Messenger of His Word.v.7The Messenger of His Rod of Affliction.The Messenger of Worldly Success.v.10The Messenger of foretastes of a Better world. v.12 The Messenger of our Dying Experience. v.13 Today need to deal with our sins of covetousness, selfishness, and willingness to believe "religious lies." We must abandon "soft religion" that pampers our pride and makes it easy for us to sin. Why? Because "our God is a consuming fire" Heb. 12:29, and "The Lord shall judge His people" 10:30. Remember, judgment begins in the house of the Lord 1 Peter 4:17.
