This Sunday falls on a very significant day in world History. As you may know, October 31st is regarded as the beginning of the Reformation. On this day in 1517, Martin Luther asked for a public theological debate about several key issues (95 to be exact). These issues centered around what we summarize as the solas of the Reformation. Sola or Alone - Scripture Alone, Christ Alone, Faith Alone, Grace Alone, and to the Glory of God Alone.
These are great themes! We will sing through each of them this Sunday and then look at another Scripture text where we see the Deity of Christ in the Old Testament. Jesus did indeed walk in many scenes of the Tanack. This Sunday we will enjoy one of my favorite scenes - Genesis 22 (text below).
