We have been considering 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18, which describes the future rapture of the saints to be with the Lord. But because of the common belief (which I believe to be unbiblical) of a future pre-tribulation rapture that will take place 7 years prior to the visible return of our Lord, I thought it important and necessary to set forth the biblical doctrine of the second coming of Jesus Christ. One passage of God’s Word that impinges on this matter is Daniel’s prophecy of 70 weeks, in Daniel 9:25ff. I believe the common understanding, that the 70th week of Daniel is a prophecy of an end time 7 year period of tribulation, is a wrong interpretation of Daniel’s prophecy. We address this important matter today.
