Isaiah continues to unfold the revelation that God gave to him about Jesus Christ – from the revelation that God will be sending a kingly figure and then to the surprising revelation that the kingly figure who is coming is going to appear as a servant. Isaiah begins and ends underlining the fact that the identity of the servant is God. It was also revealed that the servant will provide Spiritual cleansing for the entire world. Even so Isaiah revealed that people would despise and abhor him. And true to Isaiah’s vision they didn’t believe in him even knowing the miracles he did by the power of God. Even the apostle Paul did not at first believe. Only with the help of the Holy Spirit can you believe in him, and you are guaranteed that he will give you that help if you ask him for it.
