"People often miss that there were two miraculous "feeding events" during Jesus' earthly ministry. Perhaps it is because only Matthew and Mark mention the feeding of the 4,000. However, both accounts are in God's Word which makes both important, and Jesus later uses the fact of the two separate but similar events to instruct His disciples (Mark 8.18-21).
This "repeated miracle" is part of God's inspired Word for our benefit (2Tm 3.16). This second ""food event"" continues to reveal Christ–His gospel and plan. As this follows the healing of the Syrophoenician's daughter (7.24-30) and other miracles "in the region of the Decapolis" (7:31), a Gentile area, the events place the full force of Jesus' ministry as for the Gentile peoples as well as Jews–a necessary understanding."
