Acts 13:42-52 – Conversion Brings Conflict – Sermon Outline Intro: Salvation in Christ brings conflict with the world, the flesh, and the devil. It often brings conflict with friends, families, and neighbors. God's Kingdom must leaven the nations, and overcome all opposition. Need: Sinners love their sin, and religious people love their religion, even when it is false and misguided. Zeal for both sin and misguided religion is dangerous, blinding, and damning. May our zeal be for Christ's kingdom. Theme: Faithful Christianity comes with conversions and conflicts.
1. Gentiles and Jews are converted to Christ through Paul and Barnabas's ministry. (42-43) 2. The envious Jews cause great conflict, contradicting the Gospel and condemning themselves (44-47) 3. Those God had chosen for salvation believe, but conflict with Jews and rulers continue. (48-52) |
