Acts 13:13-41 – Missionary Labors Near Galatia – Sermon Outline Intro: You have been promised a great present on your birthday, but you have to wait until your birthday comes. You have been promised to one another in marriage, so you longingly anticipate your wedding day. Need: So all of God's people given to Christ had to wait for His birth, atonement, and resurrection, for the great gift of salvation to go from promised to fulfilled, bringing an end to Moses' laws of temple and animal sacrifice. Theme: Christ is revealed in all the Scriptures as the risen and reigning Lord of all His people.
1. Paul proclaims God's covenant history with Israel to Jew & Greek God-fearers in a synagogue. (13-25) 2. Israel's rejection & crucifixion of Christ, as well as His resurrection, fulfills O.T. Scripture. (26-37) 3. Jew and Gentile are called to faith in Christ for justification and forgiveness of their sin. (38-41) |
