The local church is God's means of equipping the saints of God and reaching the world with the gospel. It is the pillar and ground of the truth. Jesus bought the church with his precious blood and is coming back for her soon. The local church is described in the New Testament as having organization, order, and leadership. Two or three people simply meeting together does not constitute a church. Neither do Bible studies and other types of gatherings where there is not the order that is prescribed in the Bible for a New Testament Church. Forsaking the assembling of ourselves together is a sin, as we can see in the context of that verse in Hebrews 10:25. There is no provision made in the Bible for people who claim to be Christians but refuse to join themselves to a local church.
