We know that the Bible teaches that nothing can be done to earn salvation…but our Lord says if you are going to follow Him it is going to cost you something. Many churches today and many preachers are teaching another gospel. A gospel that says or implies that you can be saved and yet not be a disciple. Often implying that you can go to Heaven and yet live like hell. A lot of modern day Christianity teaches that there are”two classes” of Christians…”regular and high test”… Normal Christians and Super Saints.
This is a perverted gospel. The late missionary, James A. Stewart said, “So great has been the perversion that many congregations are astounded when they hear the true Gospel of the Lordship of Christ. They believe that we are preaching a new gospel.”
