Hosea 13:14 I will give the price to make them free from the power of the underworld, I will be their saviour from death: O death! where are your pains? O underworld! where is your destruction? my eyes will have no pity. Hosea is addressing the nation of Israel and is giving them the last words God has given him before judgment comes. God is telling the Israelites that all these judgments are coming and after that he will rescue them during the tribulation. But until then, they will experience judgment from God. This will happen at the end of tribulation when the gentile nations have surrounded Israel and are about to annihilate them. God will intervene then and save them. 15 Though he gives fruit among his brothers, an east wind will come, the wind of the Lord coming up from the waste land, and his spring will become dry, his fountain will be without water: it will make waste the store of all the vessels of his desire. God is reminding them that even though He will redeem them in latter times, there will be great suffering until that time. They will not get away with their sinful behavior. America is very sinful in the present time, and the only way to escape judgment is to get on our knees and repent. 16 Samaria will be made waste, for she has gone against her God: they will be cut down by the sword, their little children will be broken on the rocks, their women who are with child will be cut open. This was a prophecy that the capital would be taken by the Assyrians and those soldiers would hold the babies by their feet and smash their heads in, and take pregnant women and rip the unborn baby right out of her womb. This actually happened in 722-723 B.C...
