In this portion of Luke's gospel Jesus gives us five things that should be consistent in believer's lives, namely: - living without anxiety, - living without fear, - living without a need for safety, - living in readiness of the Lord's return, - living as a steward. These things personify the fact God: - is in control; - gives us the Kingdom (it is not earned); - provides for all our needs; - understands time; and - owns everything! However, Jesus aptly points out an unintended consequence of living in anticipation of His coming--division! Living in anticipation of the Kingdom is divisive!
