I. GOD IS DESIRABLE IN TIMES OF AFFLICTION, v. 13a. A. Without affliction, we are more prone to presumption. B. During affliction, we seek Him more diligently. C. Following affliction, we see God's hand more clearly.
II. GOD IS DESIRABLE IN TIMES OF JOY, v. 13b. A. When Christians rejoice, the world takes notice. B. When Christians rejoice, other Christians are encouraged. C. When Christians rejoice, God is pleased.
III. GOD IS DESIRABLE IN TIMES OF SICKNESS, vv. 14-15. A. During sickness, we are reminded of our dependence on God. B. During sickness, we are reminded of our need of others. C. During sickness, we are reminded of His power to help us.
