Fellowship Baptist Church of Coney Island 2929 west 20th Street Brooklyn, N.Y. 11224 Phone: (718)-372-5022 Website: coneyfbc.com Sermon Outline for Sunday, October 26, 2014 Senior Pastor R. Rubino Planting The Seeds of Slavery !
Text: “Let him that is taught in the word communicate unto him that teacheth in all good things. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6:6,7)
Doctrine: The mature Christian will fully support the leadership in the Church. This includes both material and spiritual support. When we are involved with a faithful Ministry we must joyfully support the cause. We cannot fool God who knows our hearts. If we plant seeds of love, mercy, compassion and faithfulness, we will harvest these things in our own lives.
Reasons: Essential questions that need to be answered.
1. Where did Paul get the doctrine of sharing between Teacher and Disciple? (Acts 4:31-37) 2. Does our attitude and motivation matter in our sharing? (Acts 5:1-11) 3. Are there examples of Disciples sharing their resources in the Bible. (Acts 9:36; Acts 10:1,2)
Application:
1. The local Church must strive to support the leadership when needed. If the Church Pastor is paid by the State, he is a hired servant. (John 12:1-8) 2. The Disciples of Jesus Christ must see the local Church as an opportunity to give our best. 3. Elders in the Church must be faithful with Church resources.
